RASTOMA support the emergence of a brother network in West Africa
Together to save marine turtles in West Africa!
A workshop gathering some key players in marine turtle conservation in West Africa has been organized on 5 – 7 December 2018 in Grand Bassam (Cote d’Ivoire) by PPI-FFEM and BIOPAMA of IUCN-PACO in partnership with RASTOMA, OceanCare, Abidjan Convention, WA BiCC, etc. Participants, amongst which a majority of conservation CSOs, decided to combine their strengths and to work synergistically towards more protection of these animals and their habitat. Reflections are underway to explore how to set up an operational network…
Rastoma (www.rastoma.org) the network of sea turtle conservation actors in Central Africa (DRC, Congo, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroun) is proud to support the emergence of a this network in West Africa (covering Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Liberia). The Rastoma vision is to support the establishment of two brother networks on the mid term : one in West Africa, one in North Africa (South Mediterranean).
